Deputy Country Director-Liberia- International Foundation for Electoral Systems 

The Deputy Country Director will support the Country Director in project administration and in-country financial management and operations. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFES and USAID regulations. The position will involve collaboration with the Country Director on all aspects of the administration of the office including day to day management of staff, financial oversight and budget management, and personnel management. Civil Society Index Program Officer, South Africa – CIVICUS

The successful candidate will liaise with a selected number of National Coordinating Organisations (NCOs) in CSI partner countries, and provide regular support to them in the implementation of the project. This includes: Providing ongoing support to CSI partner countries, including responding to queries and issues that arise, monitoring the implementation process in the countries assigned, and reviewing submitted materials (in either English, French, Spanish, Arabic or Russian, depending on language capacities of the candidate); Liaising at the national level with UNDP country offices and other relevant focal points and stakeholders, when necessary; and Contributing to the preparation and execution of CSI training workshops.  Candidates should forward above documents and information to: humanresources@civicus.org by Friday, 30 October 2009. Civil Society Index Senior Programme Officer, South Africa- CIVICUS

The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic development and operational management of the CSI programme by: Providing leadership and oversight in programme development, implementation, research, monitoring and evaluation; developing and managing strategic partnerships; overseeing the operations of the CSI programme including operational planning, budgets and expenditures, and human resources; identifying fundraising opportunities, developing proposals and liaising with donors; and assisting program staff in managing the day to day activities of the CSI as needed.

Fellowship in Democracy Assistance – European Partnership for Democracy

In October 2009, the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD) will start a new fellowship programme at its Brussels’ headquarters that will give people working in organisations in the field of democracy assistance the opportunity to experience working at the nerve-centre of European decision making.
