Zelaya was overthrown by oligarchs within and those from the USA because he attempted to establish a constitutional convention in order to ensure Hondurans determine their own consititution. The last one was written by the United States of America.
Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela all have constitutions written by elected constitutional assemblies and overwhelmingly supported in a subsequent referendum.

The response level to local and national disasters is great but it's a real shame that so many people take advantage of the negative situations.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.

This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

In regards to the criticism from states normally reluctant to criticize the Cuban government, the silence of Latin American presidents, both from the right and the left, has been insulting to say the least. This especially applies to the attitude of Brazilian President Lula da Silva, himself a former political prisoner, who made no comments to the foreign media while Gen. Raul Castro said in a press conference in Havana right next to him that the Cuban Revolution has never executed anyone extra judicially or tortured anyone. With his attitude, President Lula showed that he is only interested in conducting business with the dictatorship and not exercising his country's growing prestige as a regional power in defending democratic activists. What a disappointment!

I agree with Mr. Kronmiller. Although the White House tried to be respectful, the policy regarding Tibet and democracy in China needs to an overhaul.

The Dalai Lama deserves the respect and support of all the free democratic peoples of the world. His peaceful and enlighten approach to leadership is starkly contrasted by the treatement the Tibetian people have recieved. It is time for our government to stand up for what is right and give the Dalai Lama the respect all democratic world leaders are provided when visiting the United States of America.
Sincerely,
Rory Kronmiller
